Thursday 10th October 2019 is World Mental Health Day
This year the focus is on suicide prevention.
In 2017, a total of 5,821 suicides were registered in the UK.
We have been working with mental health spokesman Tom Dickinson, creating a tshirt to raise money for Andy's Club UK.
Unfortunately Tom and his family have been effected directly by male suicide and he now attends schools across Yorkshire to talk to you adults about the pressures of social media, peer pressure and what help is available if anyone is struggling with their mental health.
In memory of Toms brother we have printed his initials on the sleeve of the t-shirt.
For every t-shirt purchased we will donate £1 to Andy's Man Club UK.
Andy's Man Club is run exclusively by unpaid volunteers each day from central Halifax in West Yorkshire. They are working tirelessly and passionately to prevent male suicide by creating a safe environment for men to get support for mental health, depression and any suicidal thoughts.
Using the power of social media we sold 80 t-shirts in the first 24 hours, this was £80 donated to the club straight away, we could not be more grateful for the support we have received so far.
We have a link on our facebook page where donations can be made without purchasing a t-shirt and within the first 24hours of this link going live we had £15 donated too.
We have received a lot of emails and messages through social media thanking us already for designing the tshirt that they will be wearing with pride to spread the message "Its ok not to be ok". Sometimes we need a gentle reminder, its ok, you can feel this way, there is support out there. The stories we are receiving around this are heartbreaking but also inspirational, if we can help 1 person by spreading this message we would be over the moon and couldn't ask for anything more.
Working together with a few businesses we have added their logo to the tshirt and offered a £2 minimum donation on their orders. If you would like to get involved please drop us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please send us your photos or use #itsokmilton and we will share all the photos across our social media on the day.
Like our page on Facebook to keep updated with the total donation made on your behalf.
Along with Andy's man club there are lots of other people and charitys that are there to help, if you feel like you cant talk to your family and friends you can visit your GP for help.
Samaritans operates a free service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for people who want to talk in confidence - Call them on 116 123.
Thank you for your support.
